How it is calculated

Billed quantity = max(desired units, minimum order). Supplier total = billed quantity × unit price + shipping. Cost per desired unit = total / desired units.

Worked example

For 100 units, EUR 2 each plus EUR 20 shipping totals EUR 220. EUR 2.10 each with free shipping totals EUR 210, a EUR 10 difference before other conditions.

Before you calculate

Enter the number of units actually needed and each supplier's minimum independently. The comparison charges for the larger of the minimum and desired quantity. Its effective cost divides the full bill by the desired units, so purchased surplus remains visible in the economics.

Interpreting the result

The lower immediate bill is not automatically the better commercial choice. Quality, lead time, unusable surplus, volume tiers and payment conditions are outside the model. Use comparable tax and currency bases for both offers.

Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
