How it is calculated
Monthly m³ = L/min × minutes per session × sessions per month / 1,000. Variable cost = m³ × tariff. Total = variable cost + allocated fixed charge.
Worked example
A 10 L/min zone run for thirty minutes on twelve occasions uses 3.6 m³. At EUR 2/m³, variable cost is EUR 7.20 before the fixed charge.
Before you calculate
Use the actual total flow of the zone and count the sessions expected in the month. Separate the variable water rate from a deliberately allocated fixed amount. Do not add the same charge in both parts.
Interpreting the result
The model assumes constant flow and a single rate. It does not model tiered billing, rainfall or plant water requirements. It is a cost estimate and does not design pressure, pipework or an irrigation schedule.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
