How it is calculated
Copies produced = ceiling(usable copies / (1 − waste fraction)). Total = setup cost + variable cost × copies produced. Cost per usable copy = total / usable copies.
Worked example
With EUR 20 setup, EUR 0.15 per produced copy and 100 usable copies, zero waste gives EUR 35 total and EUR 0.35 per copy. At 10% waste, 112 copies must be produced.
Before you calculate
Enter the number of good copies you need to deliver, not the total number passing through production. Waste represents the share of produced copies lost. Setup is charged once and the variable rate applies to every produced copy.
Interpreting the result
The calculation rounds production up to whole copies. It does not add paper-size optimisation, tax, shipping or volume-price tiers. Use a variable rate that already covers the production costs you intend to compare.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
