How it is calculated
Widths = ceiling(opening width × fullness / usable roll width). Cut length = drop + total hems, rounded up to a pattern-repeat multiple when required. Total length = widths × cut length.
Worked example
An opening of 200 cm at 2× fullness needs three widths of 140 cm fabric. A 220 cm drop plus 20 cm hems rounds to 245 cm at a 35 cm repeat: 7.35 m in total.
Before you calculate
Measure the area the curtain must cover, not just the glass. Fullness multiplies this width before the number of fabric widths is calculated. Enter the combined top and bottom hem allowance in the total-hems field. Use the roll's usable width after excluding its edges.
Interpreting the result
Whole-width cutting and vertical repeats do not guarantee that the design matches between panels. Heading style, shrinkage, joining, lining and specialist construction can change the purchase quantity. Confirm the layout and fabric direction before ordering.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
